Food for Thought

Author: With birthday’s on my mind, and a grocery list for baking a cake, I wanted to take a moment to reflect. The process of grocery shopping and baking has brought out a little of my inner domestic diva. You see, being married to the Culinary King, I have had only a few opportunities to actually do this. Partially, it was just due to intimidation, or the fact that what Joe cooks always tastes better. Or maybe, it was that Joe knows what he’s doing in the kitchen, so I might as well just let him do it. Duh. Anyway, baking the cake reminded me that there is an element of female nurturing and care giving specific to food, different than doing the laundry, cleaning the house, etc. I hope to do this more often. Who knows? Maybe I will unleash the culinary goddess inside of me.
