Thanksgiving 2008

My first Thanksgiving with King Foodie was noteworthy to say the least! We were invited to Bill and Bonnie’s for a turkey day feast and Bonnie asked us to bring a side dish to serve fifteen. As a brand new wife, I assumed Bonnie asking “us” to bring a side, clearly meant me. “Ooh,” I thought to myself, noting my brand new kitchen stocked with pots, pans, knives, and the pink checkered apron monogrammed “Princess M” hanging near the pantry. I was so excited! This was going to be my first opportunity to cook!

Back tracking a bit… Remember my culinary history, or lack of it? Young adult Marney did not cook. It was not because I was not interested. It was just that whole shpiel, “I was a professional dancer, dancers don’t eat, I lived in apartments the size of a cubby hole with no kitchens…”
