Mama Foodie’s Visit
Last spring, Mama Foodie paid us a weekend visit. For many moms, even if their child is now an adult, nothing brings more pleasure than spoiling and pampering their “cubs.” So, of course during Susie’s Durham visit, her son’s breakfast, lunch and dinner were of primary concern. And Foodie was primed and ready to take full advantage…
Before Susie arrived, Foodie had already begun planning our daily schedule of restaurants. “Mom’s getting in around 11:30am. That’s right in time for lunch! We can pick her up from the airport and head straight to Sitar for the Indian buffet. I bought a few cheeses and crackers that we can share as a late afternoon snack in case we get hungry. And for dinner, I made reservations for 7:00 pm at Tonali‘s. It’s farm to table Mexican!” Readers, this was not our meal plan for the entire visit. This was only for day one.
Yup, Susie could not be any sweeter, or take any more pleasure in satisfying her son’s stomach. However, although she is the woman who birthed the Foodie, her belly is the same size as mine.
