about joe
Never do I see such a sparkle in Joe’s eyes as when he is eating, cooking, reading, talking, or thinking about food…except for when he’s looking at me (of course)!
After one week of marriage, I quickly realized that I was never going to be able to set foot into MY kitchen, unless we got this guy a job at a restaurant. Fortunately, Joe took my advice and made the career move he had always dreamed of. With resume in hand and wearing a three piece suit, Joe approached the Fearrington House for an opportunity to apprentice under their renowned chefs. Joe graduated from Duke with a degree in neurobiology but had never had any formal culinary training. However, he had grown up loving food which evolved into many hours cooking and researching food, beer, wine, restaurants and recipes. Fearrington offered him an opportunity to work in their kitchen based on Joe’s knowledge, passion and confidence about his abilities. Of course the wife was right, Joe had found his niche. This is definitely his life’s calling.

Hi Joe and Marney,
This is great! Come and cook for us.
Love,
Marsha
