Pepper’s Pizza
We probably have walked by Pepper’s Pizza on Franklin St. in Chapel Hill dozens of times, always thought it looked cool, but never got around to eating there. Today Joe and I decided we would try it for lunch.
The atmosphere is a welcoming mix of cool art and punk grunge pizza parlor – one wall is decorated with artistic portraits of musical celebrities, and the other wall is covered with local artwork for sale. Our server told us Pepper’s has been open for over twenty years under the same ownership but has changed locations. At the current locale, it caters to a business lunch crowd as well as mom and the kids (there is a children’s museum right next store.) However, a lot of the dinner crowd are the old-school types who want to eat pizza and listen to loud music. Yeah, this place has a bit of an edge, character and style.
